MELODIC MISCREANTs III (dwn SOUTH to the core)

Ever hear a song and think, it should be your personal anthem. Something so true that you couldn't have written it better yourself. Of everything that you don't know about me here is something that you should...I'm down south to the core. Every fiber of my being is southern, from my vernacular, obsessive use of the word y'all, and my love of a heavy 808. I'm so down south that it's only natural that I'm a SOUTHPAW....And I love every bit of it. With that being said here is this months' melodic miscreant entry. Ms. Badu tell'em what it is!

It's all so SIMPLE

If procrastination were a game I'd be a champion. I think it's been about two months since the last post, which means it's long overdue. This is my solemn vow...no matter what I'll do my best to continue posting simple complexities on this forum. Hopefully, possibly, maybe, there will be a great artist interview, with an even greater artist (fingers crossed), and some other things on the horizon. So hang tight kids, we're on the road to recovery.

SCAVENGER

Scav⋅en⋅ger
A. An animal or other organism that feeds on dead organic matter.
B. A person who searches through and collects items from discarded material.
C. A street cleaner.
D.(Chemistry). A chemical that consumes or renders inactive the impurities in a mixture.

This weekend I went on a scavenger hunt, and no it wasn’t for colored boiled eggs laid out by monster sized bunnies. It was a photographic scavenger hunt for random items like human powered vehicles, street life, shapes, etc. The whole process gave a literal meaning to the phrase “One mans junk is another mans treasure”. When you think about it scavengers get a bad rap. In one instance we say when life hands you lemons make lemonade so technically isn’t that what a scavenger does, with the exception of feeding off dead organic matter, that’s just sick, but you know what I mean. Aesthetics say that we all have the ability to take something that someone else may think is grotesque and see the beauty in it. Isn’t that what graffiti or escargot is? It’s simply something that someone thought was repugnant and someone else made it beautiful or gourmet. So...are you a scavenger?

*sidebar* You’d be surprised, how many people see someone walking around with a camera and ask to have their picture taken; if you’re single it’s a great way to pick someone up.
